Description:
CAE, a global leader in training for civil aviation, defense, and healthcare, is seeking an experienced Simulator Engineer to join its technical support team based at RAF Waddington, Lincolnshire. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining and supporting CAE’s advanced flight simulation systems, particularly in support of the MQ-9B Protector program.
This is a unique opportunity to work within a highly skilled team, ensuring simulator readiness and reliability, while contributing to cutting-edge aviation training technology.
Support and maintain Flight Simulator Training Devices and associated systems.
Attend maintenance calls, perform snag clearance, and prepare simulators for operational readiness.
Execute Preventive Maintenance Tasks (PMTs) and Daily Readiness (DR) checks in compliance with CAE standards.
Conduct and document Qualification Test Guide (QTG) runs; troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Collaborate with global teams, including colleagues in Montreal, for complex troubleshooting and system integration.
Record and track all maintenance activities in the Maintenance Management System (MMS).
Ensure compliance with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) protocols and actively maintain a safe workplace.
Engage in hardware setup, integration, and software debugging, ensuring seamless operation between systems.
Prepare and review technical deliverables for submission to clients.
Maintain technical proficiency in software and hardware innovations relevant to CAE’s products.
Travel within the UK (and occasionally abroad) to support multiple CAE clients and simulation systems.
Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in simulation, electronics, or related fields.
Strong understanding of hardware, software, and networking.
Competent in software scripting, debugging, and integration.
Familiarity with configuration management systems and hardware/software development processes.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Willingness to travel occasionally, including short-notice assignments.
Must reside in or near Lincolnshire.
Full UK driving licence required.
Eligible for UK Security Clearance (minimum 5 years UK residency).
Must have the right to live and work in the UK.
