Site Financial Controller

Description:

Flex, a global diversified manufacturing partner, is seeking a Site Financial Controller for their Warrington, UK location. Reporting to the Regional Finance Director and as a member of the site Management Team, the Site Financial Controller provides strategic financial advice, identifies trends, recommends cost-saving or profit-generating opportunities, and supports operational and profitability improvements.

The role involves leading the site’s finance department, overseeing eleven international colleagues including two direct reports, and managing 5 UK reporting entities. You will collaborate closely with the General Manager, Regional Finance Director, and the Global Business Service Center in India.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the finance department, mentoring and developing team members.

• Prepare reports summarizing and forecasting company business activity, financial position, and earnings.

• Guide and follow up on finance team work, ensuring skill development and alignment with corporate standards.

• Direct preparation of budgets, forecasts, and supporting documentation.

• Evaluate complex profit plans, operating records, and financial statements.

• Advise management on operational adjustments, trends, cost-saving opportunities, and profitability improvement strategies.

• Analyze financial information to determine present and future performance.

• Lead internal/external audits, ensure SOX-compliance, internal controls, and tax reporting.

• Align corporate accounting policies and procedures across the site.

Experience & Skills Required:

• BSc/MSc degree in finance, accounting, or equivalent experience.

• Around 7–8 years of relevant experience, preferably in manufacturing/cost accounting.

• Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA; US GAAP knowledge preferred.

• Strong people management skills and ability to lead a multi-national finance team.

• Fluent and confident in English.
