Description:

Luton Borough Council, on behalf of London Luton Airport (LLA), is hiring a Content & Channels Lead to take charge of LLA’s content strategy and social media presence. This is a 12-month full-time fixed-term hybrid role based in Luton, requiring presence on-site 2–3 days per week. The selected individual will be responsible for the planning, creation, and delivery of compelling digital content that enhances the airport’s brand visibility, reputation, and communication impact across various digital platforms.

This position plays a key role in both internal and external communications, demanding strong creative ability, strategic thinking, and a proactive mindset to ensure the airport remains a top performer in digital engagement.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of LLA’s social media strategy that aligns with business and communication goals

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of LLA’s social platforms, ensuring consistency in brand voice, messaging, and engagement

  • Create a wide range of digital content including blogs, articles, infographics, web copy, and video

  • Ensure all content is accurate, timely, brand-aligned, and optimised for digital performance

  • Use analytics and insights to drive content planning and strategy improvements

  • Advise stakeholders on optimal content formats, messaging, and platforms

  • Maintain a forward-looking content calendar in line with strategic priorities

  • Manage and catalogue visual assets such as photography, videos, and design content

  • Collaborate with creative agencies and internal teams to deliver impactful campaigns

  • Support wider media and reputation management initiatives

  • Line manage or mentor junior content staff, fostering team performance

  • Actively support the LLA Way Strategy, contributing to guest experience and internal engagement


Qualifications Required:

  • Strong verbal and written communication with excellent grasp of tone, audience, and message control

  • Proven experience in digital content strategy and production, ideally within fast-paced environments like media, journalism, or marketing

  • Deep knowledge of social media platforms and analytics

  • Proficiency in video editing tools (e.g., Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premiere Pro)

  • Working knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, or similar tools desirable

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects efficiently

  • Collaborative and team-oriented, with a solutions-driven approach

  • Keen attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure

  • Academic or professional qualifications in communications, media, marketing, or related fields
