Software Developer

Description:

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a skilled Software Developer to join a project team developing a Management System for a new satellite program. The role involves working in an agile environment, contributing across the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and support. The developer will work on microservice architectures and automated testing, ensuring high-quality, scalable solutions aligned with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop code within an agile (Scrum) environment, adhering to quality standards and project processes.

• Execute tasks from Sprint Planning including unit testing and implementation per Acceptance Criteria.

• Support Scrum activities: Daily Scrum, Refinement, Sprint Planning, Closeout, and Retrospectives.

• Collaborate with Test Team to deliver high-quality software.

• Apply software design patterns (MVC) and contribute to distributed system solutions.

• Manage source code via GIT and track issues using Jira.

• Utilize UML/SysML for design and analysis using Enterprise Architect or similar tools.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Java Core (version 8+), Spring Boot 2.x, JPA, Hibernate.

• Experience developing microservices and web services using RESTful APIs and HTTPS.

• Knowledge of distributed systems, software design patterns, and Agile development processes.

• Familiarity with CI/CD delivery techniques, source code management, and issue tracking.

• Experience in UML/SysML and Enterprise Architect or similar tools.

• Eligibility to gain UK SC Security Clearance.

• Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK and internationally.
