Description:
Vertex Search are representing a top tier finance firm in London who are looking to hire a number of Software Engineers across various levels of experience, including a Lead Engineer with project and team leadership exposure.
Role responsibilities:
- Work within a high-performing team to develop new applications using a combination of Python, React, Web Services (Flask), SQL Server/PostgreSQL and other tools
- Collaborate across Business teams (inc Ops, Pricing, Trading & Finance) to gather requirements and deliver new features
- Mainly back end app development, with some exposure to GUI work across rotating projects
- Enhance business-critical applications, across front, middle and back office
- Partner closely with front office teams, implementing changes to existing codebase
Your background:
- Commercial application development experience, ideally within the finance space
- Strong Python programming experience (min 3 years commercial - do not apply without)
- Ability to work with multiple programming languages and technologies
- Familiarity with SDLC and development best practices
- A team player with excellent communication skills
Bonus skills & experience:
- Web development experience (incl. web frameworks such as Flask)
- Familiarity with SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL database technologies
- Experience with React / JavaScript / TypeScript development
- Linux and cloud experience
- Past finance experience and familiarity with SecDB, Athena or Quartz
