Software Engineer

Description:

Harnham is hiring for a Software Engineer (Full Stack) to join a rapidly growing digital insurance provider focused on simplifying and modernizing insurance. With £43m in funding and 300,000+ customers, the company is expanding its product offerings and needs engineering talent to shape and scale its platform.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-impact features and lead cross-functional projects.

• Collaborate with Product, Data, and Commercial teams to build user-centric solutions.

• Handle meaningful end-to-end challenges across the full technology stack.

• Influence platform architecture and engineering best practices.

• Maintain high standards via testing, peer reviews, and clean coding.

• Contribute to product and team direction in a fast-growing environment.

Candidate Profile:

• 2-4 years experience in full-stack software engineering.

• Comfortable working on both frontend and backend, with Python and Angular preferred.

• Strong software engineering fundamentals with a quality-focused mindset.

• Experienced in collaborative, cross-functional team environments.

• Curious, proactive, and enthusiastic about ownership and rapid pace.

• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.

• Bonus: Exposure to DevOps/infrastructure or personal software projects.

Technical Skills:

• Backend: Python (microservices)

• Frontend: Angular (modern preferred), open to React, Vue, Next.js

• Containerization & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes

• Cloud: AWS

• Databases: SQL
