Software Engineer

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a Software Developer to join a dynamic project team responsible for developing a Management System for a new satellite development program. The successful candidate will participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and deployment, with a strong focus on microservices architecture and automated testing. Key Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality code in an agile (Scrum) environment adhering to defined quality standards and project processes.

• Perform unit testing and deliver implementations meeting acceptance criteria.

• Contribute to all Scrum activities including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Refinement, Retrospectives, and Closeouts.

• Collaborate with the Test Team to ensure quality delivery and integration.

• Participate in system design using UML/SysML and leverage Java technologies for implementation.

• Support CI/CD delivery processes and ensure smooth deployment of microservices.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Proficiency in Java Core (version 8+).

• Strong experience with Spring Boot 2.x.x, JPA, and Hibernate.

• Proven experience in microservice architecture and RESTful APIs.

• Familiarity with distributed systems and MVC design patterns.

• Experience in agile development environments with CI/CD techniques.

• Source code management (GIT) and issue tracking (Jira).

• UML/SysML experience with tools like Enterprise Architect.

• Ability to gain UK SC Security Clearance (mandatory).
