Software Engineering Manager

Description:

A top quantitative fund is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager/Tech Lead Manager to lead a small, high-performing team focused on machine learning infrastructure including distributed model training, large language model (LLM) hosting/fine-tuning, and scalable deployment systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the technical direction for ML infrastructure and deployment systems

• Lead a team of 6-7 experienced engineers

• Drive integration of advanced ML capabilities into high-stakes, real-world systems

• Hands-on leadership role in a deeply technical environment

• Manage scalable, production-grade systems

Candidate Requirements:

• 8+ years software engineering experience with leadership roles

• Expertise in machine learning infrastructure and distributed systems

• Strong programming skills in Python, with working knowledge of C++ and Java

• Proven ability to build and scale complex, production-quality systems

• Not suitable for junior or first-time managers
