Description:

HID Global is seeking an innovative and driven Product Manager – Software Tools to join its Identification Technologies (IDT) division based in Cardiff, Wales. This position plays a key strategic role in managing and evolving HID’s Software Tools & SDK portfolio, developing cutting-edge solutions that enable seamless management of RFID, NFC, and BLE technologies across IoT applications.

As a Product Manager SW Tools, you will act as the voice of the customer, bridging the gap between market needs and technical innovation. You will collaborate with engineering, marketing, sales, and support teams to define product strategy, enhance existing solutions, and introduce new features that empower organizations to securely identify, manage, and connect devices globally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop HID’s Software Tools & SDK portfolio, ensuring continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Provide APIs and services that enable customers to effectively manage HID readers within their IoT solutions.

  • Maintain awareness of market trends, competitors, and technological advancements, incorporating findings into product strategy.

  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies in collaboration with marketing communications and sales teams.

  • Work closely with Product Owners (POs) and Business Owners (BOs) to represent customer perspectives in decision-making.

  • Prioritize business objectives by balancing customer needs, market potential, business cases, and internal capabilities.

  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, partners, and customers to ensure alignment and understanding of product goals.

  • Provide training and support to Sales, Pre-Sales, Technical Support, and Professional Services teams on software tools and SDKs.


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

  • Experience: Proven background in product management, preferably in the software, IoT, or technology sectors.

  • Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and agile methodologies.

  • Proficiency in modern programming languages such as C, C++, and REST APIs.

  • Strong knowledge of cloud architectures and commercial cloud service providers.

  • Experience using Jira, Confluence, and other product management tools.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools such as Miro.

  • Understanding of MS Windows, Mac OS, Linux, and mobile platforms (Android/iOS).

  • Must be able to travel internationally up to 10%, with a valid passport or the ability to obtain one.

  • Ability to work flexibly with teams across multiple time zones and regions.
