As a Solutions Engineer (Pre-Sales), you will play a key role in the technical sale of Cloudflare’s solutions, ensuring business value, solution design, and seamless adoption for customers.

This role requires strong technical acumen, customer advocacy, and cross-functional collaboration with teams across Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Support. You will work with customers to understand their challenges and provide scalable solutions while keeping up with Cloudflare’s rapid innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the technical customer advocate within Cloudflare
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to drive adoption
  • Design and present fit-for-purpose solutions to customers
  • Ensure technical wins by demonstrating ROI and solution benefits
  • Stay updated on Internet security, performance, and networking trends
  • Engage in customer meetings, events, and technical discussions
  • Travel occasionally (10-15 days per quarter) for customer visits and conferences

Candidate Requirements:

  • 3 to 6 years of experience in IT, engineering, software development, or consulting
  • Fluency in either Spanish or Italian (required)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and handle competing priorities
  • Solid understanding of networking, security, and Internet fundamentals, such as:
    • TCP vs. UDP and application preferences
    • Authoritative vs. Recursive DNS
    • Firewalls, TLS (SSL), and HTTP protocols
  • Experience with DDoS, CDN, Performance, DNS, Developer Platforms, or Zero Trust/SASE solutions
  • Ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms
  • Passion for problem-solving and customer success

Bonus Skills:

  • Previous experience in pre-sales engineering or consulting
  • Familiarity with Python, JavaScript, Bash, or other scripting languages
  • Exposure to Zero Trust security concepts
