As a Mid Market Solutions Engineer (UK), you will play a pivotal role in driving successful business outcomes for Motive’s mid-market clients. Partnering closely with Account Executives, you will design and deliver impactful product demonstrations, translate customer challenges into practical solutions, and serve as a trusted advisor throughout the sales process. This role combines technical expertise, business insight, and strong communication skills to align Motive’s technology with client objectives.
You will report directly to the UK Senior Manager of Solutions Engineering and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success, to ensure Motive continues to deliver exceptional customer experiences and innovative solutions.
Collaborate with Account Executives to develop deal strategies, lead discovery sessions, and deliver engaging product demonstrations.
Customize demos and presentations to align with customer requirements across technical and business audiences.
Translate customer challenges into actionable technical solutions that deliver measurable ROI.
Develop a thorough understanding of Motive’s platform and act as a subject matter expert for clients and internal teams.
Support Account Executives with RFIs, RFPs, and competitive positioning in the market.
Maintain deep knowledge of the competitive landscape and help displace competitors through value-based selling.
Work closely with internal teams to ensure customer feedback drives innovation and continuous improvement.
3+ years of experience in a Solutions Engineer, Pre-Sales Engineer, or Technical Consultant role serving mid-market or enterprise customers.
Strong background in SaaS, hardware, fleet technology, or telematics solutions.
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
Proven ability to manage complex solution sales cycles and engage with both technical and business decision-makers.
Familiarity with value-based selling frameworks such as MEDDIC, MEDDPICC, Command of the Message, Demo2Win, or similar.
Strong understanding of APIs, integrations, and solution design.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to convey technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
Willingness and ability to travel 40–50% for client meetings and on-site support.
Analytical thinker with a solutions-oriented, customer-first mindset.
