Description:
Gilbert Meher is recruiting a passionate and experienced SENDCo to join a highly respected specialist school in Halifax. This full-time, permanent role begins in September 2025 or January 2026, offering an opportunity for an education leader committed to driving inclusive practices and high standards in SEND provision. The ideal candidate will be deeply committed to supporting pupils with diverse needs and dedicated to ensuring every child reaches their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and lead the school's SEND strategy in alignment with the SEND Code of Practice.
Oversee the effective coordination and completion of Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews.
Provide oversight and attend PEP meetings for Looked After Children.
Coach and advise staff in delivering differentiated and inclusive learning strategies.
Liaise regularly with parents, external professionals, and school leadership to support SEND students.
Monitor teaching quality and learning outcomes for students with SEND to ensure continual improvement.
Essential Requirements:
Accredited SENDCo qualification (mandatory).
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS.
Strong leadership skills or clear potential for leadership.
Proven commitment to inclusive education and pupil development.
Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
