As a Specialist Pharmacist in Clinical Pharmacy and Clinical Trials, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring safe, effective, and patient-centred care across diverse clinical services. This includes thoracic, cardiac surgery, cardiology, and orthopaedic surgery patients, while also taking a lead role in clinical trials management.
This exciting four-pillar role combines clinical practice, leadership, education, and research. You will contribute to high-quality pharmaceutical care, oversee the delivery of clinical trials services, and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams. The role is designed to support professional development, with regular structured learning sessions linked to the RPS Core Advanced Practice portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide full clinical pharmacy services and pharmaceutical care to surgical and medical patients.
Offer prescribing support to ensure safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of medicines.
Lead and deliver clinical trials pharmacy services across NHS Golden Jubilee.
Provide pharmaceutical expertise for both commercial and non-commercial clinical trials, ensuring compliance with local, national, and international regulations.
Contribute to medicines management and uphold all legislative requirements regarding pharmaceuticals.
Collaborate with pharmacy, medical, and research teams to enhance patient outcomes.
Participate in education, training, and mentorship of colleagues and students.
Support ongoing research, quality improvement, and service innovation.
Candidate Profile:
Qualified pharmacist with relevant clinical pharmacy experience.
Demonstrated expertise in managing medicines and providing prescribing support.
Strong knowledge of clinical trials procedures and regulatory compliance.
Skilled communicator and collaborator with multidisciplinary teams.
Open to personal and professional development, with opportunities for independent prescribing and advanced practice.

Working Conditions:
Full-time: 37 hours per week (reducing to 36 hours from April 2026).
Includes weekend work, public holidays, and on-call duties.
