Staff Engineer

Description:

Wave Talent is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead the technical direction of a fast-growing mobile platform in fitness technology. The role focuses on developing iOS, Android, and Apple Watch apps integrated with popular fitness platforms like Garmin, Strava, and Fitbit. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for architecture, mentoring, and scaling the stack to millions of users globally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead technical strategy and architecture across multiple cross-functional squads

• Build, test, and ship features end-to-end across mobile, backend, and integrations

• Mentor engineers to raise team-wide engineering excellence

• Improve CI/CD pipelines, release processes, and developer productivity

• Foster collaboration between product, design, and engineering teams

Required Technical Skills:

• Expertise in React Native, TypeScript, GraphQL

• Proficient with AWS Serverless technologies (Lambda, AppSync, DynamoDB, S3, EventBridge)

• Skilled in Node.js and Python

• Experience with SwiftUI for Apple Watch

• Familiarity with modern CI/CD and observability tools such as Fastlane, Maestro, GitHub Actions, and Sentry

Desired Experience & Traits:

• Proven leadership in architecture and delivery of large-scale React Native applications

• Fluency in TypeScript, Node.js, and AWS serverless environments

• Passion for solving full-stack challenges from mobile to backend to cloud infrastructure

• Track record of mentoring engineers and delivering products quickly
