Description:

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) is seeking an experienced and strategically-minded Professional Standards Manager for a 6-month fixed-term contract based in London (Hybrid). This role is crucial to upholding and advancing professional and ethical standards within the insurance and financial planning sectors. Working within the Professional Standards department, the Standards Manager will contribute directly to the CII’s mission of building public trust and supporting high-quality service delivery in the industry.

This role offers the opportunity to shape and manage the CII’s professional standards framework, including oversight of the Code of Ethics, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) audits, and Corporate Chartered standards. It involves strategic leadership, cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and policy design aligned with regulatory expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, maintenance, and delivery of the professional standards framework.

  • Oversee ethics-related policies and ensure they align with current regulations and industry benchmarks.

  • Manage CPD audit processes and contribute to corporate chartered standards.

  • Support strategic reviews, governance reporting, and external benchmarking exercises.

  • Drive the evolution of ethical training and professional conduct initiatives.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external bodies to enhance sector professionalism.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Demonstrated experience in shaping and implementing ethical and professional standards within regulated sectors.

  • Strong grasp of regulatory frameworks, codes of conduct, and CPD requirements.

  • Proven ability to navigate complex projects, from strategic planning to detailed delivery.

  • Skilled in data interpretation, benchmarking, and evidence-based policy development.

  • Confident communicator who can build trust with stakeholders at all levels, including governance bodies and external partners.

  • A strategic thinker with curiosity and passion for advancing professionalism.
