Stock Controller

 

Description:

Iron Mountain, a global leader in secure information management and logistics solutions, is seeking a Stock Controller to join its warehouse operations team in Lutterworth. The Stock Controller plays a critical role in maintaining accurate stock levels, supporting smooth warehouse operations, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

This position involves operating Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) and other Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to effectively manage stock movement and storage. You will also work with advanced automation tools, such as Dexory robot dashboards, to analyse stock positions, resolve discrepancies, and identify areas for process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate stock control and inventory management across the warehouse.

  • Operate VNA and MHE equipment safely and effectively to manage stock movements.

  • Maintain and update documentation, spreadsheets, and occupancy levels using inventory management systems.

  • Analyse stock movement data via Dexory dashboards and support root cause investigations of discrepancies.

  • Report and address damaged or non-conforming stock.

  • Support warehouse projects such as space optimisation, layout improvements, and audits.

  • Conduct inventory audits and forecast stock requirements to prevent shortages or overstocking.

  • Track shipments, resolve discrepancies, and maintain compliance records.

  • Manage access control for visitors, suppliers, and contractors.

  • Uphold all health, safety, and compliance requirements while ensuring accurate record keeping.

  • Perform other duties as assigned, aligned with role responsibilities.

Skills, Requirements & Competencies:

  • Proven experience in warehousing or logistics operations.

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), with attention to detail and proofreading ability.

  • Valid licenses for VNA, reach truck, and counterbalance MHE required.

  • Familiarity with warehouse automation systems such as Dexory is highly advantageous.

  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and deliver excellent customer service.

  • Team-oriented, proactive, and adaptable in a dynamic warehouse environment.

  • Proficient in using IT systems and various software applications.

  • Professional approach with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
