The Technology and Innovation Centre (TIC) is seeking to appoint a new member to our Stores team. TIC accommodates up to 750 people including academics, researchers, post-graduate students, project managers as well as Industry partners. Additionally, TIC is a world class conference and events venue, which can host up to 600 delegates at any one time.

As part of the Operations team, you will provide customer focused support services across the facility and you will have an existing knowledge and a keen awareness of the importance of Health & Safety and manual handling procedures.

Responsibilities include receipt, delivery, storage and the safe handling of all goods and materials used in specialist research laboratories, including solvents, chemicals, and gases, some of which are hazardous if handled incorrectly. Working in collaboration with laboratory staff to support the movement of goods throughout the building to ensure safe systems of work, in accordance with the University’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures are always followed.

Candidates will have a valid manual handling certificate. Knowledge and experience of stores and safe handling procedures within a similar high-tech research laboratory environment are essential as is a strong safety awareness (particularly of cryogenic gases and solvents) and a knowledge of fire safety systems.
