Strategic Procurement Manager

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Procurement Manager to play a pivotal role across our Green Energy Portfolio, supporting the delivery of multiple Transmission and High Voltage (HV) projects.

This is a senior, strategically focused role responsible for developing a new sector supply chain to support the energy portfolio, with a particular emphasis on Transmission and HV infrastructure. The role operates across all projects and is recharged to multiple programmes within the green energy sector.

Role Purpose

The Strategic Procurement Manager will lead the development of a robust and resilient supply chain within the energy sector, ensuring programme certainty in a constrained and evolving market. The role is critical in safeguarding against risks associated with capacity, lead times, manufacturing slots, and commercial exposure, while enabling long-term supply chain sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
 

• Develop and implement strategic procurement and category management strategies across the Green Energy portfolio
• Establish and develop a new sector supply chain, including identification and engagement of key niche and specialist suppliers
• Fully map supplier capability, capacity, and lead times to support programme delivery
• Assess the geography of the supply market, including regional and international considerations
• Lead risk profiling at supplier and category level, including commercial, capacity, and delivery risk
• Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships, including onboarding and ongoing relationship management
• Work closely with engineering, commercial, and project teams to align procurement strategy with programme requirements
• Proactively mitigate risks related to programming, manufacturing constraints, and market volatility
   

About You
 

• Proven experience in strategic procurement, ideally within the energy sector, utilities, transmission, HV, or major infrastructure
• Experience developing and managing category strategies and new supply chains
• Strong understanding of capacity planning, lead times, and global/regional market dynamics
• Commercially astute, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
• Collaborative, strategic, and delivery-focused in approach
