Description:

Amey is looking for a Permanent Examiner to join their CEFA account in the Southern region of England. Amey has been working with Network Rail since 2009, managing the asset management and examination of infrastructure assets. The role involves working as part of a team that handles structural examinations, assessments, and monitoring services for Network Rail across the UK.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out structural assessments and ensuring compliance with all relevant standards. The role involves working with handheld technology and databases to review and compile reports and supporting various special examinations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile and submit condition reports for review by the Examining Engineers team.

  • Complete required railway, safety, and technical training as outlined in the training agreement.

  • Use handheld technology to assess the structural condition and input data into the structures database.

  • Conduct special examinations and assist with monitoring schemes for sensitive structures.

  • Undertake reconnaissance visits and provide safety-critical site support (COSS, ES SWL1 and 2).

Required Skills and Experience:

  • STE04 qualified (essential).

  • BSE qualified (preferable).

  • Level 3 diploma or equivalent in Engineering/Construction (preferable).

  • IRATA qualification (preferable).

  • COSS/IWA competencies (preferable).

  • Full driving licence.

  • Strong literacy and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient in IT, with a minimum of Word and Excel processing skills.
