Description:
The role will form part of the Museums & Special Collections public engagement team, whose principal goal is to increase access to the University’s rich collections of historic material and create new learning opportunities across the region. Museums and Special Collections is part of the University’s Directorate of Digital and Information Services.
Experience of effectively dealing with the public is essential. The candidate will be expected to provide a high standard of customer care, work as part of a team and be responsive to the public.
The candidate will be working as sole gallery invigilator on shift, contacting managers or Security when required, so must be capable of working independently.
Prior experience of working or volunteering in a museum, gallery, or heritage attraction, and/or working or volunteering with children and families is desirable, as is an interest in Zoology and the natural sciences.
