Description:

This is an excellent opportunity for a career-driven Tax Director seeking a leadership role within a well-established, multi-office accountancy practice. The role is based in Ipswich and offers hybrid working flexibility.

The successful candidate will lead the provision of personal tax advisory services to a diverse and loyal client portfolio, playing a key role in both client relationship management and business growth. This role offers a clear path to partnership for a motivated individual with excellent technical expertise and interpersonal skills.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of personal tax advisory services, including compliance and tax planning, for a significant portfolio of clients.

  • Manage all commercial aspects of portfolio management, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and client expectations are consistently met.

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, proactively addressing queries and providing tailored solutions.

  • Oversee and mentor junior team members, managing workflow, reviewing their work, and providing training and development.

  • Support the compliance team with the preparation of tax computations and other technical tasks as required.

  • Interpret and communicate changes in UK tax legislation to provide trusted advice to clients and colleagues.

  • Champion your own professional development by actively engaging in training and staying abreast of industry trends.

  • Support business development initiatives by preparing proposals, identifying new opportunities, and assisting with marketing activities.

  • Embrace modern working methods and technologies, including the use of AI tools, to enhance service delivery.


Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (CTA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) with substantial experience in UK personal tax within practice.

  • Extensive autonomous portfolio management experience in an accountancy practice environment.

  • Outstanding communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Proactive problem-solver with strong organizational skills.

  • Team player who can work collaboratively with senior colleagues and provide constructive support to junior team members.

  • Positive, can-do attitude with eagerness to learn and grow professionally.

  • Candidates qualified by experience will also be considered.
