Teaching Assistant

Description:

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join us at St Leonard's CofE Primary School, in Exeter, which is part of the St Christopher's Multi Academy Trust.

The role is to work part-time with a 5-year-old girl who has an Education Health Care Plan with Communication and Interaction needs, global developmental delay and sensory issues. This means she is mainly non-verbal, requires support with toileting, likes to play in a bespoke room next to the classrooms and requires adult supervision at all times. She has remained in with our Reception children, where the provision currently suits her best. She learns through play and her own child-led creativity and interests. Ideally, you will have had previous experience of working with children with global developmental delay, autism/social communication and sensory processing differences.

St Leonard's CofE Primary School currently has around 600 pupils, set on a large plot, the school benefits from large open spaces for children to engage with learning outdoors, whilst having plenty of space to enjoy break and lunch times with friends. The school has experienced continued growth and success, and is proud to serve the community with links to the local church and charities.
