Oxford Outcomes, operating The Wenlock School in Dudley, is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join their committed team. The role offers a rare opportunity to participate in a 4-day working week trial while being paid for five days, fostering better work/life balance. The school caters to children aged 7-18 with complex needs including autism, SEMH, and speech and language challenges.

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll be responsible for supporting individual students with tailored interventions that help with both academic progress and emotional development. This involves helping students with challenges such as speech and language disorders, behavioural difficulties, attention issues, and more. You’ll work closely with teachers, families, and external agencies, such as social workers and speech and language therapists, ensuring comprehensive support for each pupil.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Safeguarding pupils and promoting their welfare

  • Delivering personalised academic and behavioural support

  • Supporting classroom organization and lesson execution

  • Collaborating with families and external support teams

  • Assisting in intervention planning and execution

  • Promoting inclusion and academic achievement for all

  • Taking on administrative responsibilities as needed

  • Supporting whole-school initiatives for development

Requirements:

  • Essential: GCSE Grade C / 4 or higher in Maths and English

  • Compassion, patience, and the ability to work under pressure

  • A team-player attitude with resilience and adaptability

Desirable Qualifications/Skills:

  • Experience in a SEND environment

  • Familiarity with multi-agency collaboration

  • Training in communication support, SEMH, or behaviour strategies
