Technical Lead

Description:

Convatec, a global medical products and technologies company specializing in advanced wound care, ostomy care, continence care, and infusion care, is seeking a System Owner / Technical Lead LIMS to oversee the full lifecycle of laboratory information management systems (LabVantage). The role combines technical expertise with strategic vision to optimize laboratory processes, maintain system integrity, and drive technological innovation across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, test, deploy, maintain, and improve LabVantage LIMS applications and related systems.

• Collaborate with laboratory staff, QA, IT, and business stakeholders to define system requirements and implement effective LIMS solutions.

• Develop clear, efficient, and well-documented LIMS configurations and scripts, ensuring compliance with best practices and regulatory standards.

• Participate in system reviews and validation activities to ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance (e.g., GxP, 21 CFR Part 11).

• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade LIMS systems to optimize laboratory operations.

• Support the full system lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment, training, and ongoing maintenance.

• Stay updated with emerging LIMS and laboratory technologies, applying relevant advancements to improve system functionality and workflows.

• Collaborate with QA and compliance teams to meet the highest quality and regulatory standards.

• Assist in project planning, task estimation, risk identification, and problem-solving.

• Provide training, mentorship, and ongoing support to LIMS users and administrators.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience with LabVantage LIMS or similar systems.

• Proficient in system configuration, scripting, and integration with laboratory instruments and enterprise systems (ERP).

• Strong understanding of laboratory processes, data management, and regulatory requirements (GxP, 21 CFR Part 11).

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and system validation practices.

• Familiarity with database technologies (SQL), web services (REST, SOAP), and version control systems (GitHub).

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

• Experience with cloud services, laboratory automation, and training users in regulated environments is a plus.

Education & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, information technology, or a related field.

• Advanced degrees or certifications such as ITIL4, PRINCE2, or GMP are a plus.

Travel Requirements:

• Up to 25% travel, mainly within Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Americas, including overnight travel.

Languages:

• English required; Portuguese or Spanish is a plus.
