The FIRAS Inspector will conduct inspections, competency assessments, and audits for FIRAS certified companies, ensuring compliance with technical standards. This is a remote role covering the South East of the UK.
Conduct and organise inspections of applicant installer companies
Perform sampled site inspections
Assess competencies of supervisors, technicians, and operatives employed by FIRAS certified companies
Document and report outcomes from client visits
Provide technical advice on scheme rules and regulations to clients and enquirers
Technical experience in passive fire protection (contractor, product manufacturer, or testing/approval body)
Customer-facing experience with strong communication skills
Knowledge of structural steel boarding, fire-rated ducting, glazing, partition systems, penetration, roller shutter doors, cementitious spray, fire doors, cavity barriers, intumescent paint
Proficiency in MS Office (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook) and mobile/laptop devices
Good general education
On-site inspection experience
Ability to prioritise, organise, and coordinate workload
Clean driving license and full UK passport
