One Big Circle Ltd, an innovative and fast-growing technology firm based in Derby, is hiring a Technical Support Apprentice to join their Site and Systems Teams. The company is known for delivering cutting-edge “Intelligent Video” solutions, leveraging AI, IoT, cloud, and embedded technologies to transform industrial operations—especially in the rail sector.

This position is centered around supporting the continued growth and deployment of their flagship product, AIVR (Automated Intelligent Video Review), a multi-award-winning system already used widely across the rail industry. The apprentice will play a key role in constructing, testing, and maintaining high-tech camera and monitoring systems installed on national infrastructure.

Through the Level 6 Electrical/Electronic Technical Support Engineer Apprenticeship (Degree-level), the selected candidate will gain comprehensive technical training alongside real-world experience under the mentorship of a Lead Site Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the installation and commissioning of advanced monitoring systems on trains and rail infrastructure across the UK.

• Assist in planning site work including risk assessments and safety protocols.

• Carry out hands-on work at customer locations and at the Derby-based production facility.

• Contribute to the assembly, configuration, testing, and documentation of systems.

• Collaborate on diagnostics and problem-solving for system malfunctions.

• Maintain accurate and thorough technical documentation and site reports.

• Help specify and procure technical components for installations.

• Travel and overnight stays across the UK are required; expenses covered by the company.

• Periodic travel to company HQ in Bristol for training or support work.

• Comfortable with fieldwork, technical environments, and collaborative tasks.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4+ (including English, Maths, and Science).

• A Technical Certificate in Engineering.

• Must be 18+ with a UK driving license.

• Willingness to travel and stay away from home as needed.
