Tendering & Design Engineer

Envevo Ltd is actively seeking a highly skilled Tendering & Design Engineer with specialized experience in 132kV substation design to join their expanding remote team. This role requires in-depth expertise in electrical engineering principles, substation layout planning, and HV infrastructure design for high-voltage grid connections and related components.

The ideal candidate will lead detailed HV substation and network designs, create comprehensive AutoCAD drawings, and ensure all project components align with DNO/IDNO requirements and relevant grid codes. This role is essential to Envevo’s mission of delivering reliable, sustainable, and technically sound power infrastructure solutions across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and technical development of 132kV substations, including layout planning, auxiliary systems, and earthing designs

• Develop and submit tender designs for grid connections and associated electrical systems

• Conduct technical assessments and feasibility studies for HV network expansions

• Create single-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings in AutoCAD

• Coordinate designs with civil and structural teams for integrated project delivery

• Interface with DNOs/IDNOs to ensure designs comply with ENA, BS, IEC, and utility-specific standards

• Prepare bills of quantities (BOQ) and cost estimates with estimating team

• Develop full construction design packs for project execution

• Identify and address design risks through all project phases

• Contribute to client meetings, tender reviews, and design audits

• Ensure full adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards

• Stay updated on industry best practices and evolving technical standards

Essential Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical Power Engineering (or HNC/HND with extensive experience)

• Minimum 3 years of experience in 132kV or higher voltage systems

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, protection/control schemes, and HV plant equipment

• Experience working with DNOs/IDNOs for technical submissions and approvals

• Valid UK Driving Licence

Desirable Skills:

• SCADA project experience

• Experience in PV schedule design or energy conversion

• Chartered or working toward CEng status

• Proficiency in OM/Amtech or similar electrical design software

• Background in ICP or utility contractor environments

• Experience in Protection Studies and Earthing Report preparation
