The Liverpool Diocesan Schools Trust (LDST) is inviting applications for a Trust Estates Lead, a strategic and operational leadership role overseeing the management and development of the Trust’s school estates across a wide geographic region in the Liverpool Diocese.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Trust Estates Lead will be responsible for shaping and executing long-term estate strategies that align with the Trust’s educational goals and statutory obligations. This position is pivotal in ensuring that school environments are safe, compliant, welcoming, and conducive to effective teaching and learning.

The post holder will collaborate closely with school site teams, senior leaders, and central Trust staff. This is an on-site role based at the LDST Hub in Maghull, though it requires regular travel to school locations and offers remote working flexibility where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic planning and implementation of estate management aligned with educational priorities and governance requirements.

  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety legislation and DfE’s Good Estate Management guidelines across all Trust properties.

  • Develop and manage estate-related budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and value for money.

  • Coordinate and promote school lettings, working in partnership with the Central Finance Team and school staff.

  • Support the delivery of capital projects, particularly those funded through the Schools Condition Allocation (SCA).

  • Promote high standards of customer service and uphold the Trust’s values and ethos in all estate-related interactions.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience in estates/facilities management within education or a similar sector.

  • Knowledge of statutory compliance, health & safety legislation, and estate development practices.

  • Strong budget management skills and ability to deliver projects to budget and deadline.

  • Strategic thinker with excellent organisational, communication, and leadership capabilities.

  • Ability to work independently and travel regularly to multiple sites.

Contract Details:

  • Full-time – 36 hours per week

  • Full-year post – 52 weeks

  • Flexible working requests will be considered

  • Start date: 1st September 2025
