London South Bank University (LSBU) invites applications for the position of Visa Compliance Officer, a two-year fixed-term opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting international students from enrolment through to graduation. This is a meaningful role for professionals passionate about student welfare and immigration compliance. You will work within LSBU’s growing Immigration Compliance and Advice Team, partnering closely with academic departments and professional services to ensure adherence to visa regulations, while also offering direct support to international students.

The ideal candidate will have strong empathy for the unique challenges faced by international students, an understanding of the UK visa framework, and the capacity to manage sensitive situations with professionalism. The role requires a balance of independent decision-making and collaborative teamwork, ensuring that students remain compliant with visa conditions and feel supported throughout their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and support student visa compliance from enrolment through to graduation.

• Provide guidance and maintain effective communication with international students about their visa responsibilities.

• Collaborate with academic and administrative staff to ensure a smooth, compliant student experience.

• Handle sensitive student cases with discretion, empathy, and integrity.

• Maintain accurate records and data pertaining to visa compliance and reporting.

• Participate in staff training and contribute to improvements in compliance processes.

• Ensure that boundary-setting is upheld when managing students’ visa-related issues.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Demonstrated knowledge of international student support and UK visa regulations.

• Ability to prioritise workloads independently amidst conflicting demands.

• Outstanding interpersonal and active listening skills, with a calm and composed approach in high-pressure situations.
