Description:

Capita, as part of Project Selborne, is seeking a skilled Warfare Radio Techniques Trainer to deliver specialist training to the Royal Navy within the Above Water Tactical Training Element. This role is a vital part of the transformative Project Selborne, which aims to modernise Royal Navy training and deliver better trained sailors to the front line faster.

As a Trainer, you will work within a collaborative training team, delivering both practical and classroom-based training to small classes of 8-10 personnel. The role requires a combination of subject matter expertise, communication skills, and a passion for teaching.

This is a Term Time Contract, meaning you will work 45 weeks per year, with holidays structured as:

  • 2 weeks at Christmas
  • 2 weeks at Easter
  • 3 weeks in August

Key Responsibilities:
✅ Deliver Warfare Radio Techniques Training within the Above Water Tactical Training Element.
✅ Conduct both practical exercises and classroom-based teaching for Royal Navy personnel.
✅ Support line management and fellow trainers to enhance training quality and delivery.
✅ Contribute to piloting, reviewing, and modernising training courses as part of the Project Selborne transformation.
✅ Maintain and update training materials to ensure alignment with modern operational requirements and technological developments.


Qualifications & Experience:
🎓 Experience delivering training within the Armed Forces (Royal Navy experience highly desirable).
⚓ Strong understanding of anti-submarine warfare and Warfare Radio Techniques.
🗣️ Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
💻 Strong IT skills, especially with Microsoft Office.
🎯 Experience working within the Defence Learning Environment.
📋 A Level 3 Training or Coaching Qualification is desirable.
✅ Must be able to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC level).
