Description:

The candidate will work alongside the Research Fellow Dr Emily Worthington to develop a web-based research output incorporating audio-visual materials, digitisations of historical documents, and scholarly text, and supporting user comment and interaction. The candidate will contribute to the selection of a suitable web-based academic publishing platform and be responsible for developing it and populating it with content based on materials created by the RF. They will also be responsible for Research Data Management for the project, including the editing, management and storage of data and audio-visual files and their associated metadata, according to the University’s protocols. They will also contribute to the general administration of the project as appropriate, such as overseeing technical support for and documentation/streaming of study days and workshops, and managing the project’s social media channels.

If invited to interview, candidates will be asked to prepare a short presentation evaluating one or more existing digital publishing platforms from a shortlist, and/or proposing a bespoke solution in relation to the project brief.

 

Skills, Experience & Qualification needed

  • Experience in website design and development
  • Audio and video editing skills and knowledge of appropriate software
  • Ability to design and present online content to a high presentational standard
  • Interest in Western Classical music and ability to understand music score notation
  • Ability to design and manage technical and data workflows
  • Ability to create high-quality metadata for both academic and SEO purposes
