Description:
Key areas of responsibility:
- Producing and editing content for the website, including; Developing and creating new written content in liaison with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) e.g., long-form and short-form articles, blog posts etc from concept through to delivery.
- Taking the lead on identifying potential new content, e.g., stories and articles using analytics and other tools.
- Editing existing written content to fit brand and style guidelines, migrating this into the Drupal CMS.
- Commissioning, assessing and selecting appropriate imagery to accompany content, using photo editing software, preferably Photoshop.
- Coordinating photo/video shoots as and when required.
- To follow the editorial style guide, tone of voice and writing for the web guide in updating or generating new content.
- Archiving and/or deleting content where required.
- Optimising web content to align with SEO and accessibility standards, helping other content writers across the Museum on SEO best practice.
About you:
- Demonstrable 5 years of experience in content editing and production for large websites.
- Effective copywriting, copy editing and proof reading of short and long form content, using appropriate guidelines.
- Experience working with sensitive or controversial subject matter.
- Good understanding of SEO and UX writing and best practices.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, especially scheduling.
- Experience of making creative decisions in live production scenarios.
- Excellent communication both written and verbal.
- The ability to manage and develop good relationships with external clients/customers.
