Youth And Community Programme Manager

 

Description:

We’re on the hunt for someone to pioneer the planning and delivery of youth work at The Lighthouse Project, an exciting new development that will create a state-of-the-art youth and community hub in the heart of Byker. You will be joining an incredible team and bringing our vision to life by forging a safe and engaging environment where young people can access new opportunities, friendships and support. This role will include designing our delivery programme and working closely with our Youth and Community Hub Manager ahead of opening our doors in March 2025.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery of our youth work activity.
  • Lead our delivery teams of employed and volunteer youth workers.
  • Ensure safeguarding and health and safety standards are adhered to.
  • Design and implement our delivery standards, guidance and toolkits.
  • Administrative duties including financial processing and youth work documentation.
  • Produce and communicate key reports in a timely manner.
  • Take a data-led approach to designing services that meet the needs of the young people of Byker.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, referral partners and the Byker community to deliver the best services possible.
  • Seek new opportunities, collaborative ventures, strategic alliances / partnerships.

 

Essential qualifications and experience

  • Developing and delivering Youth Work provision.
  • Experience working in a community setting similar to Byker.
  • An understanding of safeguarding principles.
  • Knowledge of social care, healthcare, community care or charity related industries.
  • Customer service and stakeholder management.
  • Staff management experience (preferred, not essential).

  • Good organisational, planning, writing, budgeting and administration skills.

  • Personable nature, good at demonstrating care and empathy.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to navigate varying social situations.
