Account Director

Description:

Ashbury is seeking a proactive and strategic Account Director to manage and grow a major retailer client account, leading its commercial development and service delivery across all operational levels. The role is remote but includes monthly in-person visits to the client’s London office.

As a key member of the commercial team, you will lead client engagements, manage commercial negotiations, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality regulatory and product development services. Your ability to problem-solve, lead teams, and communicate across all levels will be crucial in building a strong client relationship.

You will work closely with internal regulatory and international specialists to ensure continuous improvement and optimal service alignment with the client's business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and grow a major retailer account, owning its commercial and strategic direction

• Manage day-to-day service operations to ensure client satisfaction and delivery excellence

• Conduct weekly update meetings with the client and handle any service concerns or issues

• Oversee monthly governance reporting

• Build strong relationships with stakeholders, including graphic and technical system providers

• Negotiate contracts for new and existing services

• Align internal resources and develop team capabilities to deliver exceptional service

• Ensure your presence and influence is recognized at the strategic client level ("top table")

Required Skills:

• Retail or FMCG sector experience, preferably food-related

• Strategic and operational decision-making capability

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and diplomacy skills

• Ability to handle a fast-paced workload and shift priorities

• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and product development processes is advantageous

• A growth mindset with a “can-do” attitude
