Account Manager

 

Description:

Wates Group, a leading family-owned UK construction, development, and property maintenance company, offers an exciting opportunity for a technically strong Account Manager to provide operational leadership, technical management, and development of a key client base in Southampton. The role requires a recognised technical qualification and membership with the Institute of Safety and Health (IOSH) or equivalent, alongside solid financial and commercial experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and motivate the WPS team to deliver excellence in M&E and Fabric service provisions

  • Provide visible leadership and nurture relationships with key client stakeholders

  • Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, quality, environmental, security, and Wates Professional Standards

  • Promote a Zero Harm culture and ensure timely upload of compliance certification onto ACT (Assurance Compliance Tool)

  • Implement and safeguard best practices for commercial activities, including contract management, managing specialists, and supplier oversight

  • Ensure KPI/SLA targets are delivered and dynamic MI reporting is maintained

Candidate Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in leading multi-diverse teams

  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and change management skills

  • Ability to balance integration of company policies with client requirements

  • Experience in making effective presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, and senior management
