Actuarial Consultant

Description:

AEJ Consulting Ltd is seeking a qualified or nearly qualified Actuarial Consultant to join their growing team, focusing on GMP equalisation and benefit rectification projects. This remote role is ideal for an actuary with experience in pensions who is ready to take ownership of complex actuarial assignments and contribute to the evolution of one of the UK’s most forward-thinking consultancies.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering consultancy services to a broad client base of pension schemes, supporting activities such as strategic funding, de-risking, regulatory compliance, and journey management. You will be working with a team that thrives on innovation, values collaboration, and maintains a strong client-centric focus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support on projects involving GMP equalisation/conversion, NRA equalisation, and other benefit rectification exercises

• Serve as a primary contact for clients on designated projects and attend client meetings

• Review, check, and sign off work done by junior team members while providing mentoring and constructive feedback

• Manage project workflows and contribute to timely, quality-driven delivery

• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate technical solutions and service integration

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Qualification: Part-qualified or fully qualified actuary, or equivalent actuarial experience

• Experience in pension actuarial consulting or related actuarial roles

• Understanding of GMP-related issues, benefit rectification, and pension administration

• Strong grasp of UK pensions legislation and regulatory best practices

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging clients and internal teams

• Ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a high-performance environment

• Flexible, proactive, and collaborative attitude

Desirable Skills:

• Experience using actuarial modelling tools such as PFaroe or similar software

• Background in consultancy-based actuarial work in the pensions sector

Working Hours

Full-time (contract basis), remote working
Contract Duration: 6 to 12 months
