Agricultural Liaison Officer

 

Description:

We're looking for an Agricultural Liaison Officer to join our Cabling team, supporting the successful delivery of a major infrastructure project across East Riding and North Yorkshire.

This is a unique opportunity for someone with agricultural, land management or stakeholder engagement experience to play a key role in managing relationships between our project teams, landowners and client representatives throughout the lifecycle of the project.

What you'll be doing

As Agricultural Liaison Officer, you will act as the primary point of contact between construction teams and landowners, ensuring works are carried out in line with agreed landowner requirements, planning conditions and contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities Will Include
 

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with landowners, occupiers and client representatives.
  • Coordinating project activities around harvest schedules and other farming or land management requirements.
  • Managing access arrangements and communicating upcoming works to landowners.
  • Monitoring construction activities to ensure compliance with landowner agreements, planning conditions and environmental requirements.
  • Coordinating pre and post-construction land drainage discussions and restoration activities.
  • Managing records, trackers and project documentation relating to landowner engagement.
  • Resolving landowner concerns, complaints and defects in a professional and timely manner.
  • Supporting the verification and negotiation of compensation claims where required.
  • Working closely with operational, environmental and ecology teams to ensure project delivery and regulatory compliance.

Essential
 

  • Knowledge of agriculture, drainage, soil management or land management practices.
  • Experience engaging with landowners, occupiers, clients or other external stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Full UK driving licence.
     

Desirable
 

  • Formal qualification or practical experience within an agricultural environment.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering, utilities or major infrastructure projects.
  • Understanding of landowner, grantor or land agent agreements.
  • Experience working on underground or overhead utility projects.
  • Knowledge of traffic management legislation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary project teams.
