Description:

Gallagher Re, a leading global reinsurance brokerage and analytics powerhouse, is seeking an experienced Analytics Data Analyst/Engineer to join its rapidly growing Data and Analytics team based in London. This role is designed for an innovative, detail-oriented professional eager to transform raw data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making in the reinsurance sector.

As part of Gallagher Re’s dynamic analytics division, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the placement of insurance and reinsurance programs across multiple lines of business and territories. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with a commercial understanding of insurance data, helping the organization deliver exceptional client outcomes and maintain its leadership in reinsurance analytics.

This hybrid position requires working from the London office approximately two days per week, providing flexibility alongside professional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with brokers, underwriters, and clients to understand data requirements and deliver high-impact analytical insights for reinsurance placements.

• Conduct complex data analysis using advanced visualization tools to evaluate market trends, claims experience, and loss ratios.

• Work extensively with Underwriting Workbenches — previous experience is essential.

• Develop, enhance, and maintain data pipelines using Microsoft Azure Data Factory and related Azure services for optimized data processing.

• Design and implement analytical dashboards and tools to support data-driven decision-making across the business.

• Lead the creation of robust data quality frameworks, ensuring integrity and accuracy across large, complex datasets.

• Develop bespoke client data models to support unique analytical requirements and reporting needs.

• Stay ahead of emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering, visualization, and analytics, continuously innovating Gallagher Re’s data capabilities.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Data Analyst, Data Engineer, or Analytics Specialist within the insurance or reinsurance industry.

• Proficiency in Power BI, SQL, Python, and Microsoft Excel for analytics and visualization.

• Strong technical expertise with the Microsoft Azure toolkit (Data Lake, Data Factory, Analysis Services, etc.).

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.

• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to simplify technical insights for non-technical audiences.

• Self-driven and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
