Assistant Building Surveyor

Description:

James Andrews Recruitment Solutions Ltd is partnering with a well-established Multi-Disciplinary Consultancy based in South East London/Kent to hire a Graduate or Assistant Building Surveyor. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a budding professional at the Pre- or Post-APC level to grow within a reputable and expanding consultancy.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a broad range of building surveying services, including both design and contract administration. The position is ideal for recent graduates or those currently completing their degree in Building Surveying, looking to gain practical experience in a dynamic, client-facing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting various types of surveys, including:

  • Measured surveys

  • Condition surveys

  • Access audits

• Supporting senior surveyors with contract administration responsibilities

• Contributing to the preparation and submission of reports, specifications, and legal documents

• Providing design input and technical solutions tailored to building surveying projects

• Assisting in Party Wall matters, Dilapidations, and other quasi-legal surveying issues

• Ensuring compliance with building regulations and statutory requirements across all workstreams

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying (attained or final-year candidate)

• Strong working knowledge of Building Regulations and Planning Laws

• Excellent report-writing and numerical skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team

• Adaptability and a proactive, positive work attitude in a fast-paced consultancy setting
