Assistant Communications Officer

 

Description:

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) is recruiting for three Assistant Communications Officer positions to support internal and external communications projects aligned with its 2030 strategy. The roles involve working across various departments and with a range of stakeholders, including senior leadership and new entrants, to ensure effective messaging within the organisation and externally to the public.

Location Flexibility:

  • 1 role is based in London

  • 2 roles can be based nationally across England and Wales

  • Nationally based officers are expected to attend the London office once a week and work hybrid from their local office

  • London-based post holders are expected to follow hybrid working policies, with occasional travel to CPS and stakeholder locations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the execution of both internal and external communication initiatives

  • Design and develop engaging communications content, including video editing for internal platforms and social media

  • Write clear, audience-tailored content for channels such as intranet, newsletters, blogs, and social platforms

  • Support the management and operation of digital communication tools, including weekly/monthly e-news bulletins and the CPS intranet

  • Participate actively in priority campaigns, helping with strategic communication and campaign implementation

Eligibility & Requirements:

  • Minimum age of 16 before role commencement

  • Must be based in England or Wales; candidates from Scotland or Northern Ireland must seek approval for hybrid work from their home

  • Prior experience in communications is required

  • Desirable: Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools for content and video creation
