Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Description:

A.D.S Construction Personnel Ltd is seeking a motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a thriving multi-disciplinary civil engineering contractor. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a company that has just experienced a record year and is continuing to expand. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting a Senior Quantity Surveyor on a multi-million-pound highways scheme in Guildford, Surrey.

The project will run for approximately 1.5 years and primarily involves large-scale bulk earthworks, including the development of a brand-new greenfield road. In addition, the role will involve a bolt-on scheme focused on highway improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with a Senior Quantity Surveyor to deliver high-value civil engineering projects.

• Assist in managing project costs, valuations, and commercial aspects of contracts.

• Support in cost reporting, budgeting, and financial forecasting.

• Contribute to subcontractor management, procurement, and contract administration.

• Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of financial data.

• Provide commercial support to site teams and management.

Candidate Requirements:

• Qualified to HNC level or higher in a construction-related discipline (or currently studying towards qualification).

• Minimum 1 year of recent experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor (civil engineering sector experience advantageous but not essential).

• Strong analytical and numerical skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a site-based role as part of a team.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
