As an Assistant Shift Leader, you'll help deliver the continuous operation and maintenance of the Solid State Phased Array Radar (SSPAR), supporting a critical capability that operates 24/7. Your work will help ensure uninterrupted radar availability while maintaining the safe and efficient operation of essential SSPAR equipment and infrastructure.

This is a role with real purpose, combining technical expertise, leadership support and operational responsibility. Working as part of a highly skilled shift team, you'll help create impactful solutions that support national defence, protect vital capabilities and make a positive impact through reliable service delivery. What You'll Do As An Assistant Shift Leader
 

  • Operate and monitor facilities plant, the Building Management System (BMS) and fire alarm systems within the SSPAR facility.
  • Carry out Authorised Person (Electrical) duties for high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) systems, supporting planned and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) activities, ensuring compliance with Joint Service Publication (JSP) 375 requirements and site procedures.
  • Maintain accurate operational records, investigate issues and produce reports to support continuous improvement and operational performance.
  • Supervise engineering subcontractors and support maintenance activities across facilities, mechanical, electrical and radar systems.
  • Stand in for the Shift Leader when required, supporting radar operations, diagnostics, equipment rotations and site reporting activities.
     

Does this sound like you?
 

  • A minimum Level 3 engineering qualification and/or significant experience working with HV and LV electrical and electronic systems.
  • Currently an Authorised Person Electrical HV/LV or have previous experience performing AP duties is desirable
  • Experience working within Safe Systems of Work environments and a strong commitment to health, safety and compliance.
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, building services or distributed control systems.
  • Confident communicator who can build trust and work effectively with customers, colleagues, contractors and subcontractors.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, with a commitment to continuous learning, growth and professional development.
