Description:

Aon is seeking an Associate Director for Cyber M&A to join their Global Risk Consulting practice within the specialist Cyber Risk team in London. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile M&A projects, providing cyber risk advisory services, including cyber due diligence, risk assessment, portfolio management, and capability optimisation.

The role involves supporting Aon’s M&A Cyber Risk consulting business, collaborating with AMATS management, ensuring project budgets and client deliverables are met, improving team solutions and professional practices, and supporting client engagements across the UK and EMEA. A strong understanding of cyber risks across multiple industries—including finance, insurance, IT, infrastructure, healthcare, and life sciences—is crucial, along with the ability to apply quality assurance standards to project work.

This opportunity offers exposure to leading Private Equity and Corporate M&A clients, working in a fast-paced environment where insights directly influence deal outcomes and portfolio resilience. The Associate Director will translate technical cybersecurity findings into financial and strategic impact, driving optimisation and delivering tangible value during deals and across holding periods.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Consulting experience in fast-paced environments

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards (NIST CSF, ISO27001, CIS Critical Security Controls)

  • Broad cyber knowledge across multiple domains with a specialism in one or more areas

  • Cyber experience across multiple industry verticals

  • Understanding of M&A and Private Equity processes

  • Commercial awareness and adaptability

  • Strong project management, resource planning, and team development skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to relay technical findings to both technical and non-technical personnel

  • Experience with OT, IT, SDLC, or Cloud environments
