Description:
Dabster is seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to develop and maintain Python automation scripts specifically for Factory System Test (FST) and Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) processes. The role focuses on aligning automation development with project testing requirements for HVDC systems, leveraging Real Time Digital Simulator (RTDS) tools.
The position is contract-based for 6 months, requiring a minimum onsite presence of 3 days per week in Stafford, UK, with a strong likelihood of contract extension.
Develop and maintain Python automation scripts for FST and FAT based on detailed project requirements.
Create analytical tools to process and interpret results from Real Time Digital Simulator (RTDS).
Conduct functional validation tests using RTDS and assist with Human Machine Interface (HMI) applications monitoring HVDC systems.
Prepare and manage Validation & Verification team activity plans to align with project schedules.
Organize and oversee shift planning for the Automated Test Equipment (ATE) Validation team and resolve testing issues promptly.
Lead Factory Acceptance Test sessions with clients, performing gap analyses between design standards and customer requirements.
Identify critical project milestones and ensure thorough testing is planned and executed accordingly.
Document and communicate test failures clearly to engineering teams to facilitate resolution.
Support validation engineers in developing scripts and reviewing test cases to meet compliance standards.
Strong Python scripting expertise, especially in test automation environments.
Hands-on experience with Real Time Digital Simulator (RTDS) platforms.
Knowledge of HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) systems and HMI tools for system monitoring and control.
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills in lab and test setups.
Experience managing client interactions during FAT sessions and planning validation team shifts.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across engineering and client teams.
