Building Regulations Architect

Description:

Carriera is looking for a dynamic and technically passionate Building Regulations Architect to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to develop as a Principal Designer under the Building Safety Act 2022, working on a variety of projects, including both high-risk and non-high-risk buildings. The ideal candidate will have a technical background, such as in architecture, architectural technology, or construction management, and will be well-versed in the Building Safety Act.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend Design Team/Workshop meetings as required within the project scope.

• Produce BSA progress reports at the end of each RIBA Stage/Gateway submission.

• Liaise with other duty holders to ensure design work is compliant with all relevant requirements.

• Work closely with clients, ensuring they understand their duties under the BSA.

• Facilitate cooperation between all duty holders to ensure smooth project compliance.

• Lead coordination for design compliance with the consultant team, ensuring consensus is achieved.

• Participate in Design Development, ensuring compliance is maintained throughout.

• Oversee change management during the design phase and identify risks to compliance.

• Ensure that the Fire and Emergency File is developed and handed over at the appropriate phase.

• Monitor design development to identify risks and ensure the competency of the design team.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• A minimum of 4 years' experience in a relevant field (Architect, Architectural Technologist, Construction Management).

• Ideally chartered or working towards accreditation.

• Familiarity with high-risk buildings and BSA legislation.

• Strong technical delivery skills, with an eye for challenges across all parts of construction.

• Comfortable working with Building Regulations, BSA legislation, BS documents, and statutory processes.

• Passionate about technical delivery and enjoys working across multiple jobs at various stages.

• Confident in leading roles and growing with the position.
