Draughtsman

Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing detailed fabrication and erection drawings using Tekla Structures for structural steel projects typically ranging from 80 to 100 tonnes. Working closely with estimators, project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams, you will help ensure the smooth delivery of projects from design through to installation.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce accurate 3D models using Tekla Structures.
• Create fabrication drawings, GA drawings, and erection drawings.
• Interpret structural drawings.
• Attend design and coordination meetings where required.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers, workshop managers, and site teams.
• Ensure designs comply with project specifications and industry standards.
• Assist in resolving fabrication and site queries.
• Manage drawing revisions and maintain drawing registers.

Requirements

Essential

• Proven experience detailing structural steelwork using Tekla Structures.
• Experience working on projects valued between 80 and 1000 tonnes of steelwork.
• Strong understanding of fabrication and erection processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings.
• Good knowledge of connection detailing and steelwork standards.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Full UK RTW

Desirable

• Experience with secondary steelwork, stairs, handrails, and architectural metalwork.
• Knowledge of BIM workflows and clash detection.
• Experience working directly with fabrication workshops.
