University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an exceptional Business Partner to provide analytical leadership and strategic insight during a pivotal period of maternity transformation. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in supporting the Trust's response to the National Maternity Review, providing intelligence that drives quality, safety, performance and service improvement across maternity and perinatal care.

Internal applicants should note that this opportunity will be offered on a secondment basis. Before applying, internal colleagues must discuss the opportunity with their current line manager to confirm whether they can be released from their substantive role if successful. Release to undertake a secondment is not automatic and must be agreed between the colleague, their current line manager, and the recruiting line manager.

As the Trust's dedicated Business Insights Business Partner for Maternity, you will work closely with senior clinical, operational and midwifery leaders to deliver high-quality analytical support and evidence-based recommendations.

You will lead the analytical response to national maternity review requirements, develop innovative reporting solutions, and provide expert interpretation of complex maternity and perinatal datasets. Your work will directly support improvements in patient safety, clinical outcomes and maternity experience.

Key Responsibilities Include
 

• Leading the Trust's response to national maternity review data requirements.
• Developing and delivering maternity performance dashboards, quality metrics and intelligence products.
• Providing expert analysis of maternity outcomes, safety indicators, inequalities and performance trends.
• Supporting implementation and monitoring of review recommendations and transformation programmes.
• Working with clinical teams to translate complex data into meaningful insights that drive decision-making.
• Developing advanced analytical models to identify risk, variation, capacity pressures and opportunities for improvement.
• Supporting reporting requirements for NHS England, Integrated Care Boards, regulators and internal governance groups.
• Acting as a subject matter expert on maternity information systems, including BadgerNet and related data flows.
• Managing and developing members of the Business Intelligence team.
