Cad Technician

Description:

Premier Group is hiring on behalf of a bespoke commercial room manufacturer seeking a CAD Technician to join their dynamic team based in Stafford. This is an excellent permanent opportunity for both entry-level and experienced candidates looking to develop their career in mechanical design and CAD engineering.

You will be part of a specialized Drawing Office, supporting various engineering teams to develop layouts and technical drawings used in manufacturing and installations. This is a hands-on, technically rewarding role with significant room for professional growth and travel opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce 2D and 3D drawings using Inventor CAD software, supporting project and process engineering teams.

• Create detailed layouts and drawings in line with established industry standards and internal specifications.

• Participate in project schedule management by reviewing and updating drawing timelines and delivery expectations.

• Maintain accuracy and compliance through drawing checks and revisions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-specific design solutions.

• Occasionally travel to client sites in the UK and abroad, supporting engineering and installation teams.

Candidate Requirements:

• A degree, HND, or HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.

• Experience in CAD design—2 to 5+ years preferred, but graduate-level applicants will also be considered.

• Proficiency in Inventor or Revit software is essential.

• Experience in joinery or woodworking is advantageous but not required.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.

• Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and in team settings.

• A flexible attitude towards travel and a passion for continuous development and long-term career progression.
