Chief Financial Officer

A high-growth commodity trading company based in Central London is seeking a highly skilled and commercially astute Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive leadership team. This role presents a unique opportunity for a strategic finance leader to shape financial direction, support global growth initiatives, and oversee complex financial operations in a dynamic trading environment. Please note: prior experience within commodity trading is a strict requirement.

As CFO, you will work closely with the CEO and board to enhance financial performance, improve capital efficiency, and drive sustainable expansion strategies. You will be responsible for leading all aspects of the company’s financial operations, including regulatory compliance, strategic planning, treasury management, and investor relations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee comprehensive financial planning, budgeting, analysis, and forecasting

• Manage treasury, cash flow, and working capital within a commodity trading framework

• Provide real-time strategic insights to influence trading and commercial decisions

• Lead fundraising and debt structuring activities, including capital reorganization

• Ensure financial systems align with best-practice regulatory governance

• Act as the main liaison for external stakeholders, including investors, auditors, and financial institutions

Key Requirements:

• Demonstrable experience as CFO or senior finance leader in a commodity trading company

• Strong knowledge of trading P&L, funding mechanisms, derivatives, and exotic products

• Background in banking or private equity with proven expertise in raising capital and managing complex financial structures

• Exceptional leadership skills with proven influence at board level

• Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA (or equivalent international certifications)
