Civil Engineer

Description:

Amey is seeking a Permanent STE06 Civil Engineer to join our CEFA (Civil Examination Framework Agreement) team in the Southern region of England. This role involves assessing and examining railway structures as part of our contract with Network Rail, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. You will be part of a team responsible for inspecting over 70,000 structures across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

📝 Compile and submit condition reports using the structures database system
🔍 Perform structural examinations and monitoring schemes
🚂 Conduct reconnaissance visits and special examinations
🦺 Provide safety-critical site support duties (COSS, ES SWL1 and 2)
💻 Utilize handheld technology and data systems for condition assessments

Requirements:

✔ STE06 qualification – Essential
✔ Degree in Engineering/Construction – Preferred
✔ IRATA qualification – Preferred
✔ COSS/IWA competencies – Preferred
✔ Full UK driving licence – Required
✔ Ability to pass initial and random drug & alcohol screenings
✔ Strong IT skills (Word, Excel) and excellent communication skills
